Lael is a four-bedroom home thoughtfully designed to blend with its surroundings. Set below the main road, with an ancestral house in the front yard, the site naturally buffers the urban environment. Prioritizing the family’s need for gathering spaces, the design features a central double-height living area that brings in soft northern light and fresh air.
A mezzanine seamlessly connects the common spaces, fostering openness and interaction. Private areas extend along the southern side, where a dense canopy provides shade, reducing heat and channeling cool southwest winds into a courtyard. Nature is interwoven into the design, shaping the ambiance of each space and enhancing the living experience. A striking sloping roof over the car porch and sit-out, supported by I-section steel beams, creates a floating effect, adding a sense of lightness and modernity to the design.
