Nestled within a rubber plantation, Zikr is a home that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity. Designed around a central courtyard, it draws from Kerala’s architectural heritage, ensuring natural light, ventilation, and a connection to the outdoors. The planning reflects the client’s deep-rooted ties to the surrounding community, with living spaces opening onto verandahs that echo the charm of a traditional tharavadu.
The interiors are a fusion of old and new—reclaimed furniture, Rattan cane weaving, and handcrafted pottery coexist with contemporary art and minimalist finishes. A retractable shading system over the courtyard welcomes seasonal rains, while terracotta jaalis cast ever-
changing patterns of light and shadow, adding a poetic rhythm to the home. Thoughtfully designed for accessibility, Zikr embodies comfort, heritage, and timeless elegance.
